Bedlingtons are graceful, supple, muscular dogs without any sign of weakness or coarseness. The head is shaped like a pear or a wedge; the expression is mild at rest.Bedlingtons are the result of a cross between a Whippet and a Dandie Dinmont Terrier with a history stretching back to the end of the 18th century, when they were still known as Rothbury or Rodbury Terriers. While they may look like lambs, they are actually speedy terriers with all the qualities that implies. Due to their undemanding character, they are easy to breed and educate. They are calm and devoted to their family.

Did you know ?

Despite that calm, watchful exterior, Bedlingtons are able to gallop at high speed, with a very distinctive rather mincing gait, light and springy in slow paces with a slight roll in full stride.
