Square, solid, medium length, heavy brows, deep stop.
Long, heavy and close to the ground, straight, broad, long back, muscular loins, deep chest, well sprung ribs, well let-down underline in flank.
Plain white with lemon markings preferred on the body, orange is accepted, light head markings and freckled muzzle are also accepted.
Large, vine leaf-shaped, well covered with straight hair.
Set low, well feathered, strong at the base, carried level with the back.
Abundant, close, silky, straight, well feathered legs and chest.
Clumber Spaniels are stoical, big-hearted, highly intelligent dogs with a determination that enhances their natural abilities. Silent workers that take advantage of their excellent sense, they are also steady and assured companions exuding kindness and dignity. While one theory posits that they are the result of a cross between a Saint-Bernard and a spaniel, their origins generally remain a mystery. These well balanced, heavy-boned dogs wear a pensive expression. They are active animals embodying great strength.
